1.This program has made the American Psychology Association's Publication Manual the standard for all research and literature produced thought the program. This resource trains the researcher to follow the standard of information systems and their dissemination. As a professional in training, I think that this is a concise organization tool for information organization because of the standards. In Information Science systems, there are universal standards about how to develop and manage literature.
2. The Sixth Edition of Reference and Information Services was an extreme help in every class I have had. The resource breaks down the function and establishment of reference services in information systems. The book is a great tool for any question about reference materials and how they should be managed and developed to fit the user's needs. I like that this resource was very focused on user orientation and use.
3. The Collections Management Basics textbook was a good resource for understanding the standards and breakdown of how to organize information. The book lists several processes and theories of the organization of information. The book lists extra literature references and has activities. The book is explanatory and visual, which is why I believe it is a great resource.
4. Professor Kuon's website is great and a wonderful resource for maker spaces and the facilitation and understanding of maker spaces. The website provides real-world examples for kids and for creators. Dr. Kuon has a ton of resources and examples of maker spaces, and external websites for maker spaces as well. 5. The Makerspace Manual is also a great resource for understanding the makerspace model and what comes with each step of the way. The manual guides facilitators on what is needed to make spaces with rules, materials, and guidelines. The manual has easy-to-understand language and images for example.
6. The American Library Association website is a great resource. Although I am majoring in Information Science, this manual provides ethical and moral conduct laws for information providers. 7. Super Simple Storytelling was a great resource on presentation. It discusses how to practice and become a public speaker. The book is based majority on performing a story to an audience, but the skills can be used in presentations in the facilitation of information to others. This book has really good skills and keeps pointers to make any presentation flawless.
8. The Introduction to Imaging was a life changer. This book helped me understand the revolutionary aspect of imagery and the issues faced with digitization. This text helps the reader understand the importance of library systems having the same storage code and language to produce image and information transfers between library systems.
9. The text Database Management and Design is a great resource for understanding the logic in relational models presented in databases. This is one of the most interesting books I have read. The b ok goes into detail about SQL language and normalization of relation sets of data. The book helps the reader understand the construct of databases and the results given from the database.
10. Google Scholar is a wonderful resource to use. I will not always have access to university materials such as databases and libraries, so I believe that Google Scholar is the next best thing. It doesn’t have everything that the university has access to, but Google Scholar does do a pretty thorough query search for the items that are needed. 11. The Dallas Public Library website is also a wonderful source that I have discovered throughout my master's. Not only have I gotten my textbooks from the Dallas public library to save money, but I have also learned to rely on my public library throughout my studies and information science. The public library is the first line of defense when you’re trying to find information educate yourself when you’re in need of resources such as a computer or a printer. The Dallas public library person provides various services for students and all patrons alike. 12. iMovie is an amazing edit and video recording app. This app allows you not only to make videos but also edit and re-purpose them for presentations storytelling and even commercial use. Through the maker space class with Dr. Kuon, I learned how to manipulate various videos, images, and audio to present information to others.
13. Google Drive is a storage platform that has saved my life more than once. Google Drive allows users to store documents videos and photos anytime anywhere and as much as they need. This comes in very handy as a professional when you need to collaborate with partners save information quickly and create presentations on the fly. Google Drive also allows you to interact with different apps like Google Docs, Jamboard, Google Slides, and Google Sheets.
14. They Say, I Say is a book that helps users learn to write and a professional manner. It not only helps users correct their grammar but also presents information in a way that flows and conveys the entire concept. This book was a saving grace when I first started graduate school. This book helps you with technical writing and knowledge on how to Critique and edit others' writing as well.
15. The Library of Congress website is not only a shinning example of an information center, but also A powerhouse of information. Throughout my studies, we consistently use the library of Congress website and knowledge to produce projects and obtain information for assignments. The library of Congress is an institution that has tons of resources and equitable sharing ideologies that not only encourage sharing but also provide knowledge to the common everyday person.https://www.loc.gov/
